“Agility” for job seekers
Agility is a new poster solution for the tech job search bloodbath. The media’s hint at your need to change:
- find/learn something else
- repackage your skills
- etc.
…vs. being held back by old ways (amplified by anxiety, depression, and defeatism).
On the surface, agility implies being quick in pivoting to alternative opportunities, getting upskilled, etc. But the reality of being nimble is… (please bear with me here):
Being calm.
If you can stabilize your state of mind despite months of unproductive applications, rejections, ghosting, and looming financial trouble… Use the next “3 am-no-sleep” for Emotional Hygiene rather than letting your mind bang on closed doors (in an infinite loop) searching for a way out…
Agility needs your eyes open, unobstructed, and eager to look:
- via constructive motivation
- an abundance of energy
- balanced mind (no destructive emotions)
In a long-term tough situation – these can only be produced by intentional practice (mind training).
