Hello, my name is Val.

Life context

I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. Master’s in Marketing, ISU. Career in tech. From Project Manager to a SaaS startup founder/CEO and now Consultant.

Extracurricular activities (service to the community):

  • VP of PMP certification at the Project Management Institute (Kyiv chapter).
  • one of the creators of DetDom.info, a database of orphanages and volunteer networks in Ukraine
  • volunteer (IT/digital marketing) for The Children and Youth Foundation in São Tomé
  • … and finally, my clumsy writing at Engagewithreality

It started as a call to practice

The global crisis of 2008 brought a number of challenges for me, a co-founder and CEO of a tech startup at the time. I desperately needed Emotional Intelligence (EI) that would not bow under daily pressures and uncertainty.

My trial and error, research, and teachings received (including by HH the Dalai Lama) helped me find my practice. I realized compassion supported by mind training was the only roadmap to sustainable EI, cognitive abilities, and well-being. Mine and the people around me.  Turbulent times made me a practitioner.

Engagewithreality

The project started as a blog about an effective emotional education in 2015. A means to share the tools and findings of realized mind training experts. Eventually, Engage with reality evolved into a mind training program, and a support network for practitioners.

Currently, I live in the beautiful Algarve, Portugal.

Thank you.
