Yoga and meditation classes

Popular yoga and meditation classes are good for physical exercise and socializing. Asanas and meditations may help your escape from daily stress.

But the key thing you can learn and use further — is focus training.

Even if your mindfulness meditation is detached from an effective framework, you can still train your concentration. Who knows when you might need it? At work, or for more advanced mind training.

Safety — premature practices

Some yoga and meditation instructors may give you their versions of Buddhist, or Hindu practices. Like “giving and taking,” “equalizing and exchanging”, etc.

Unless you belong to the tradition and have completed all of the preliminary requirements for the practice, and have a teacher who is responsible for you and personally allowed you to do it — please do not. Prescriptions in pharmacies were invented for a reason.

Tangible results outside of sessions

If despite meditation or yoga, your stress outside of sessions is still there — you need a new practice.

If your practice does not prevent negative emotions in your worst triggering situations, it is a temporary escape.
